Tesseract’s proposal for this competition seeks to redefine Bucharest’s relationship with its rich landscape resources. Our urban gradient concept is rooted in a transition between the built city and the natural environment, articulated through multiple layers—from urban activities to vegetation, light, aquatic landscapes, and infrastructure.
We designed a dynamic network that connects the communities surrounding the lakes through carefully calibrated interventions that respect the area’s specific character, while ensuring continuity and accessibility for all users.
In this way, the Colentina Lakes emerge as a cohesive whole, shaped by fluid sequences that weave together urban functionality and nature, creating a setting that fosters social interaction and community regeneration.
