Outdated medical infrastructure is a common issue across Transylvanian towns, with municipal hospitals often forced to operate within morally obsolete, pavilion-based complexes. Located in close proximity to the protected historic town center, one of the buildings on site is classified as a historical monument and is complemented by a valuable urban park.
Tesseract builds upon this green legacy to develop a sustainable, long-term integrated development strategy (10+ years), aimed at the phased restructuring of the existing infrastructure. Functionally obsolete buildings are progressively demolished to make way for modern medical facilities designed to meet current and future healthcare requirements.
At the same time, the strategy expands and opens up the existing park in order to emphasize the historic monument and to articulate a sustainable masterplan in which nature plays a fundamental role in the healing process.
